FUNGI OF SWITZERLAND
The illustrated Swiss flora of macromycetes in 6 volumes, with a total of 2486 species.

Every species included is treated thoroughly by means of macroscopic and microscopic descriptions, drawings of micromorphological features, and a color photograph of the fungus in its habitat (see the sample page down). Collection data and ecological information such äs substrate, associated plants, type of soil, etc. are also mentioned. The «Remarks» give hints about possibilities for confusion and how to separate similar species, as well as systematic particulars. Numerous references to the literature pave the way for further study by the reader.

The fungi presented occur generally throughout central Europe, while information about their occurrence on other continents is also provided. The species are arranged in taxonomic order
and every collection examined is deposited in the mycological herbarium of the Natural History
Museum of Lucerne (NMLU).

The worldwide demand has shown that this specialized but comprehensive flora is of interest not only to mycologists and nature-lovers but also to institutions of higher learning such as universities and botanical, biological, or forestry research stations. The reason for this interest must be, above all, the exceptionally fine color photographs, in addition to the scientifically exact documentation
with ecological information, collection data, drawings of microscopic features, and herbarium vouchers. In summary, there has never been a work like this before.
